Goodbye Stinky Old Dummy!!!!!

Goodbye Dummy!!!!!!

Dummy in Australia and pacifier in US,,,  Yes my daughter has given up ...

When she was still a baby , she only use the dummy whenever she goes to bed,, but eventually she started using it on day time,, and I have to give it to her whenever we go on a holiday, plane trip,, long car drive,, just to keep me sane and to keep her still and quiet... and I know it helped her settle and it was a great source of comfort and security for her..
But she's already a big girl and it doesnt look good seeing her with that thing in her mouth,
You can see her picture.. Oh my baby,,,

So on the night before Easter ,, an Easter Bunny came and took her dummy.... and left her a big chocolate..

Yes,, the night before ,, we are already conditioning her mind to give it to the Bunny,, she was willing to give it up,, because we told her she is going to get a big Surprise...

Well, its been 6 days now and she is doing great,, so we are always praising her and we are telling her teachers in day care , friends and other family members...

Thank You Easter Bunny!!!!!
Good girl Bianca!!!!

Braiden while playing computer

This is Braiden's new favourite game ...  He loves to watch the Cartoon Network at Foxtel TV and they have advertised their website ,, so my hubby tried it and sure enough Braiden was hooked on to it.. He loves to Play Tom and Jerry games ,, but they have heaps of games to play with and  I enjoy playing some of the games there...

It's good because Braiden knows how to use computer now.. although I wanted him to use my Sony Vaio laptop,, but he wanted to use the Mac because it's got a big screen...
Well,, I don't mind ,, just as long as he enjoys himself..

In the video you would hear Braiden say some words ,,, he is getting vocal now,,  his comprehension is improving.

Thank you to my wonderful hubby...

You have been such a good husband, friend, lover, companion, buddy, mate and most of all; the  best dad to Micah, Braiden and Bianca.

He is such a funny guy ,, who makes me laugh with his jokes and makes me feel secured and safe when I'm scared... He gives me comfort when I'm not feeling well and he gives me all he support that I need in times of trouble... He's got his moments though,, we've all got it ; but he is always doing his best for the sake of his family.

He is very good with Braiden and he's got more tricks on his sleeves than I have when it comes on pacifying him when he is having a tantrums. I'll always tell him that he is very tuned in to his father's instinct: which I love most from him...
He is a very considerate person and for the fact that he acknowledge Braiden's difficulties made him more than a man...

One day , he started a blog for Braiden ,, he just rang up to tell me to look at it,, it was such a touching moment... I know how much he love Braiden and I'm proud of him to be able to open up to the world ; to share ,express his feelings and inspire other dads...

I commend him for writing his thoughts for this is a way of reaching the stage of acceptance regarding Braiden's difficulties it is a gradual process resembling a journey ,, which will be full of ups and downs...

Take hold of my hand and let us take this journey together as we make our life with a happy , meaningful and memorable experiences.....

Feel free to add Joe's link Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful Boy this is his side of story for being a dad for Braiden...

Happy Birthday Braiden

My boy who always have a cheeky smile and a laughing eyes just turned 5 yesterday..

He was recently diagnosed with mild Autism... It was such a sad day for Joe and I when we heard the diagnosis.. we had an idea of what's he's got even before but to hear the reality is so surreal...

When he was a baby , there were no signs of  being different from other children,, in fact; he walked early, happy and chubby boy.. when he turned 2 he just have a limited words to say,, he loves to watch TV and can stay there the whole afternoon... 3 years old when he would have a big tantrums.. that makes me wonder if he is naughty or what.... he became aloof and disappear when a visitors come.  He plays alone with himself or with Joe and I..

He's got a limited speech during that age in compared with other children,, that made us sought for an answer.. a session with the Speech Therapist,, then one thing led to another we've been to the Peadiatrician, Hearing specialist and Occupational Therapist...We are doing all the therapy for him...

They say that there is no cure for Autism but an early intervention, specialised education and structured support can help him develop his skills and achieve a degree of independence.

So we are doing all the best, that is why our family loves to go away for a holiday or just spend the whole week going out because this is one of the best way to stimulate him,, and he loves to go out and have fun...

As for his speech ; he is doing well.. although it is slow ,, he is trying to make a conversation with us,, his comprehension has greatly improved .. and he is saying 5 word sentence now..

Oh ,,how we wish that there is a magic pill,,,, for him... but no with or without label that attached to him.... He is still the same boy that we fell in love the first day he was born...
A beautiful  beautiful boy,, our precious little boy named BRAIDEN JOSEPH...

My husband also made a blog for him,, Check it out and find out his emotions and love for Braiden at Beautiful , beautiful boy

Feeding the Birds

Just enjoying one weekend at Kiama, we went there to show my sister Jenny around,, we had a humid,, scorching summer heat at that time,, a picnic at the park was so ideal ,, eating Fish and Chips  and feeding birds of our left overs...
But we always make it a point that the kids are having fun ...

I'm back!!!!

Yes ,, I'm back .....!!!!
We just came back from a 1 week refreshing holiday at Hamilton Island.... This is such a beautiful place to see,, it such a god family destination because of all the activities the Island has to offer.

My kids love to travel and be on holiday.. That's why my husband and I make it a point to spend more time with the kids..
The flight to the island is 2 hours by plane,, and since my kids travel a lot; they are used to it already,, thanks also to technology.. the "video on demand" on the plane (portable TV) and the entertaining toys for my kids,, keep me sane during the travel.. Before we knew it; we've  already landed...

We spent the whole week swimming, sailing , island hopping, but the best of all is snorkeling at the Great barrier Reef ; which is one of the 7 natural wonders of the world!!
But the greatest reward for my husband and I was to see the smile on my children's faces....

Jumping around...

Jumping around ,, is one of the best way to keep my kids pre occupied..

My children love to jump in this trampoline,,, I usually join them  and teach them some tricks.. They love it when we create some songs and dance moves and some silly stuff... But most off all it is a way for them to let their steam off...!!!   Keeps them tired ,, Easy for them to go to sleep!!! Best Trick isn't it?

The good thing about our trampoline is that it is covered all around with a net... So it's safe for the kids so that they will not fall and hurt themselves.

This is a big favourite for visitors with kids too,, so  whenever we have a gathering or party, kids enjoy jumping around while the adults are doing are pre occupied too...

I am sharing this with my 13 year old daughter ..
Moms read on for this is interesting and very much true..
I got this from forward messages in my email; that's why I cannot acknowledge the author

                     Mean Moms

Someday when my children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates a parent,
I will tell them, as my Mean Mom told me:
I loved you enough to ask where you were going,
with whom, and what time you would be home.

I loved you enough to be silent and let you
discover that your new best friend was a creep.

I loved you enough to stand over you for
two hours while you cleaned your room,
a job that should have taken 15 minutes.

I loved you enough to let you see anger,
disappointment, and tears in my eyes. Children
must learn that their parents aren't perfect..

I loved you enough to let you assume the
responsibility for your actions even when the
penalties were so harsh they almost broke my heart.

But most of all, I loved you enough to say
NO when I knew you would hate me for it.

Those were the most difficult battles of all.
I'm glad I won them, because in the end you won, too.
And someday when your children are old enough to
understand the logic that motivates parents, you will tell them.

Was your Mom mean?

I know mine was.
We had the meanest mother in the whole world!
While other kids ate candy for breakfast,
we had to have cereal, eggs, and toast.

When others had a Pepsi and a Twinkie for lunch,
we had to eat sandwiches.

And you can guess our mother fixed us a dinner that was
different from what other kids had, too.

Mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times.
You'd think we were convicts in a prison.

She had to know who our friends were
and what we were doing with them.
She insisted that if we said we
would be gone for an hour, we would be gone
for an hour or less.

We were ashamed to admit it,
but she had the nerve to break
the Child Labor Laws by making us work.

We had to wash the dishes, make the beds,
learn to cook, vacuum the floor, do laundry,
empty the trash and all sorts of cruel jobs.
I think she would lie awake at night
thinking of more things for us to do.

She always insisted on us telling the truth,
the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
By the time we were teenagers,
she could read our minds
and had eyes in the back of her head.
Then, life was really tough!

Mother wouldn't let our friends just honk
the horn when they drove up
They had to come up to the door
so she could meet them.

While everyone else could date
when they were 12 or 13,
we had to wait until we were 16.

Because of our mother we missed out
on lots of things other kids experienced.

None of us have ever
been caught shoplifting, vandalizing other's
property or ever arrested for any crime.
It was all her fault.

Now that we have left home, we are all educated, honest adults.
We are doing our best to be mean parents just like Mom was.

I think that is what's wrong with the world today.
It just doesn't have enough mean moms!

Security Objects

Little children love their cuddly bears, their blankets and they carry them around  and some other variety of objects.. Sometimes they look cute .. These items give them a feeling of security . Just like my 2 younger kids ,, they still have their own security items..

My Boy has a Puppy dog which he loves to carry around,,his dog's name is Scrappy... and he's been  with him everywhere..He always have that with him when he goes to bed and  when we go for a holiday the dog has to go too...what a lucky dog!!!

It helped him alot when he started Preschool,,  it was his "transition objects" it means when he goes to preschool , I am not with him, and that dog reminds him of me.. So we would feel secure and safe knowing there is something that he likes.

So every weekend we have to give his dog a wash,,, He does look a bit worn out now but he is still a cute puppy.

While my girl,, she's got a blue teddy bear, that when you shake it; it makes a sound. Just like her brother , she takes it with her anywhere,, you know where she is , when u hear the sound the bear makes..

Well, children are not the only ones who enjoy the comfort of having such objects.. Even adults enjoy them too.. some would have cigarette, chewing gum, or a special bracelet or objects.
I; myself find nothing wrong with these comforters, just as long as that habit will not last too long.. Well , imagine your kids ,, carrying teddy bears or blankie through Highschool..
Maybe just like MR . BEAN.....

How about our kids? What are their favourite security items?
